Or at the very least to put a notice on the landing page when maintenance is currently being performed and access is limited. While baffling to some that Southwest doesn't do this, it should't be surprising to anyone familiar with their myriad IT issues and mismanagement. That said, it's still indefensible.
Completely agree. No reason they couldn't have put an advisory in the area where they normally display travel advisories.
