I loved Guarana. I completely forgot about it.
I did get a couple of vaccinations-yellow fever and typhoid fever. I also had those daily pills for malaria (I used malarone). I declined the rabies vaccines since it was low-risk for the areas I was travelling to. Unfortunately there is currently no vaccine for hepatitis C and dengue fever and the most you can do is take precautions against transmission. Luckily I did not come down with any illnesses that had prolonged effects.

Unfortunately guarana isn't easy to come by in the states and when it is available it is definitely quite pricey...
