Plat has 2 x $200 travel credits, aeroplat has none
Plat has hotel elite status benefits, aeroplat has none.
Only benefit aeroplat has is the 2 for 1 short haul partner ticket, ac lounge benefit, and priority check in.
The only reason why you'd apply for aeroplat is if you fly ac a lot. otherwise the aeroplan gold with 30k bonus and waived annual fee is a much better choice, and platinum for singup bonus and benefits.
Unfortunately, I don't have any status in AC or other... Travel about 3-4 times a year, mostly from YQB to the states...
