Sometimes a novice will ask for it on a bagel. They soon discover that the hole can make things messy!
Here in jersey we substitute the bacon for pork roll. (Taylor ham). Nothing wrong with ordering it in on a bagel as long as the hole is as tight as a balloon knot.
My local bagel guy makes a great pre&c with 2 freshly fried eggs, not a scrambled mess for $3.75 and I can skip lunch.
