My carryon, Tumi Tegra Lite, was forced to be gate checked twice in the past 10 days by a FA on CR7 Eagle flights. This is a first for me. Double checked and it fit fine in the measurement tool at the gate. Checked aa.com and it appears to be just under 2 inches too wide. The reason cited by the FA "it's against FAA law." :/
