This is incorrect, at least on OW and *A. There are non-stop flights to TXL from NYC, MIA, and ORD.
From the hubs you listed, I assume you are in DL (and I'm sorry about that), but I'd choose ORD over JFK or ATL any day.
Having ORD as my home airport, I would generally agree, although fares on AA/AB are almost higher ex-BNA than on UA/LH -- as much as $500 on some sample dates I checked -- so connecting through EWR will usually be cheapest.
