A flight PRG-CPH + hotel in Copenhagen certainly cost more than the change fee. Copenhagen is a quite expensive city. I'd be surprised if just the flight itself isn't as much as the change fee. It sounds like the OP hasn't even looked into that, but it's likely in the range of $100-200 so unless it's a totally unchangable ticket then you're not saving much if anything by going all the way back to CPH to catch your original flight. You could easily be costing yourself a lot more though if something goes awry and KLM won't/can't reaccomodate you.
First thing I'd do is find out how much to change it and evaluate after that point.
