And it's no longer a rumor. This is confirmed to be true at least on the regional level. It may not be an all-out CVS purge of VRs for credit cards…but it sure is going to be close.
I'd be careful what we say. Nothing is for sure yet. If anyone is interested from here, head over to the CVS thread, but again all very speculative.
And for the record, someone had announced it a few posts up from your original post announcing it to this thread.
