I am trying to plan out upcoming applications. Did I read somewhere that once you have the Citi Executive AA card, you can't go back to the lower fee AA cards for some period of time?
Edit: Ok, I see in the WIKI that the executive card "starts the clock over" so it's advised to apply for the personal platinum card first. I'm a little unclear on this. I'm assuming the personal platinum card refers to an AA card, so would it not also restart the clock?

The reason I said most of us are excluded from getting the platinum level card, is because most of us keep applying for the executive card over and over, thus resetting the clock
Sidenote, most of us have had the platinum level card for some time before getting executive, but for those who are new, get a platinum card first, build relationship with citi and then if so inclined, go for executive

I know, what you mean (obviously) but your wording really is a little confusing

If you have not applied for any type of personal Citi AA card in the last 18 (even better 24) months, apply for the Platinum AA card first. Then wait at least 8 days, and apply for the AA EXEC card. (remember 8/65)
If you have applied for any type of personal Citi AA card in the last 12 months, you can not apply for a Plat card for quite some time, so just apply for the EXEC card.
If your last personal AA Citi app was more than 12 but less than 24 months ago, you are in a gray area where you may be able to get a Plat card now, and the longer you wait to apply, the lower your risk of denial. Or you can just get an EXEC card now, and not worry about it.
