This type of thermostat is always noted in my TripAdvisor reviews.
In some of the CA Hiltons I've staid in this last year, I found a sensor over the door. I removed the batteries from the sensor and then had no issue with the A/C. The cover over the sensor slides right off and then I just put the batteries back before I left. They were also the Inncom thermostats.
