The funny part was the guy who was helping me was asking if the card was a good card and how the lounges were because he was thinking of getting the card himself

Had you already met the full $10K spend?
And then the question you asked but no one answered: Did you ask for a retention offer outright, or just say you wanted to cancel and the CSR made you the offer?
