Embraer Regional Jet - they're reasonably spacious for regional jets, but are certainly smaller than, say an A320 or 737. They're used typically on short haul routes. They're not bad, and I imagine you'd be OK in one up front.
He used ITA matrix to find it (
http://matrix.itasoftware.com) but you can't book there - Hipmunk (and quite a few others) use the same search engine.
Traveling in August should mean reasonably priced summer business class sales to europe, similar to what was posted above.
In Matrix, for your departure city put in (without quotes) "yyz, dtw" to search from both YYZ and DTW. In the destination box put in "muc" (or any other nearby cities that have decent train options to MUC), select flexible dates and search for August for the length of time you want to be in Europe; finally select business class or higher in the cabin option.
Voila, you should see a calendar of departure dates and prices, once you find the one you want, it might be easily found on Hipmunk or Kayak, if not, we can help you find a way to book it.
