OP is probably flying with TK,TK tickets are almost always sustantially cheaper to other places than IST.

F.EX : I am a Norwegian living in Turkey,traweling rather frequently to Argentina. A OSL-IST-EZE costs me on an average at least 500-600 USD less than IST-EZE,thats economy,in Biz the difference is substantially more,and they include stopovers,in my particular situation its an understatement to say that its kind of neat!!!
