Valet check - secure tag at gate, take down jetway to access door and stair, leave; upon disembarking, wait for bag to be delivered at access door and stairway to jetway, and you are on your way. Usually, anyway. Most of us would recommend leaving no items of high value in a valet-checked bag "just in case", as pilferage has been reported here. (I am usually proactive and go to the gate counter and ask for a valet check tag.)
