I don't think AmEx is out to cheat me. I do think there are problems with Bluebird's architecture. Look through this thread and read the posts about bill pay payments being sent to incorrect payees and then tell me you think it's improbable that there could be other sorts of glitches that make transfers disappear midstream.
They are clearly different issues, with bp having to do with misconversion of the datasets for payees. It didn't happen to me, so I'm sure there is a piece of errant code creating these misconversion of payees.
What you are alleging is that amex bluebird fails as a financial transactions company, which would imply issues with amex's ability to accurately send money through the ach system, a completely ridiculous scenario.
