No, a fountain pen would be no problem coming through. The amount of liquid in a "normal" fountain pen would be far below the 3.4 oz amount (I say normal, becuase I have seen some gag fountain pens that were like 3 feet long, those would have some problem coming through!). Just leave it where you normally keep it.
