That makes sense. I found United's 2014 fleet plan, it looks like the E175s are replacing E145s/135s with a net reduction in total regional planes, so somewhere 50 seat frequency has to go down by the end of the year. At the same time there is a net decrease in single aisle domestic mainline frames as the 757s continue to leave, they are being replaced by smaller 737s but not quite 1 for 1, maybe 6 or 7 more 757 retirements than new 737s, so subbing the E-175 for an A319 lets United put the A319 on a route that used to be a 757-200 and maintain the frequency. But at the end of the day, the total number of domestic planes, and domestic seats, that are available to fly is going down and the main impact on us regional segment runners is going to be reduced 50 seat frequencies at the end of the day. Adios Cleveland. But hey, airline ops is not my day job, just something to do while I wait for the computer to be fixed so we can board the plane today. All comments welcome and well taken!
