Scheduled to fly RDU-ERI via DTW Monday morning. Due to a death in the family, will not be able to go until Tuesday. Booked an X fare several weeks ago for $204. Called customer service and was told fare is now $490, and all they can do is wave change fee, and that I would be stuck with difference of $285. In FT's experience, is this true, or has anyone had any better luck? Talked with 2 diff agents so far and been told the same. Worst part is fare was at $245 yesterday but didn't want to change until I was sure of arrangements.
