out of interest - if i use Uber in a different country (and currency) - how does it affect my credit balance?

I use Uber in Australia and i have substantial referral credit in Australian Dollars (AUD) - when I get to Paris, London or even the US - can I use this credit to offset the expense of the trip or will it just deduct the funds from my nominated credit card?
