Business Travel VAT Refunds - U.K., Sweden & Germany
Happened upon this thread and thought I'd chime in as it doesn't seem to be too clear elsewhere.
The U.K. and Sweden allow business travelers to recover the VAT paid on hotels, meals, car rentals etc.
Germany and Holland also refund VAT on some business travel expenses, but these countries have higher minimums and invoice formatting requirements that make it difficult to get anything back unless you have a lot of travel (whether just one person or company-wide).
Most other countries do NOT refund VAT on business travel.
