LAX or SFO to HKG on CX; HKG to Australia on QF or CX. It takes two awards but at least there's a chance of finding it available.

I would appreciate any creative ideas on how to use my AA miles to get to Australia....seems as though one would have to pay the big bucks and fly Qantas.
