have had problems with TSA at IAH when the length of my hyphenated family name caused an airline to truncate my forename on the BP -- I've been sent back to the airline desk to have an agent write my full name on the BP and rubber stamp it. Now I check before joining the 'security' queue.
(Apparently FTANGFTANGOLEBISCUITBARREL/T leaves too much room for doubt, whereas SMITH/JANET is fine...)
