A transit without visa is generally allowed up to 12 hours, you may leave the airport during that time. However, IST-CAI-IST is not considered a transit. See more info on link above.

I did it without visa few years ago and overnighted in a hotel near the airport but it was with MS(free hotel) and the immigration kept my passport
