Misspelled Data on CC Application
Under the category of 'boneheaded move,' I transposed two letters in my name while filling out an application for the Carlson card. Probably one of the worst ones to do it with, too.
Unfortunately I discovered the mistake when presented with the Accept/Don't Accept screen (strangely, they didn't have a 'review your data screen'). I clicked the link to look at the application in the hope that I could correct the mistake and was presented with a screen to setup a password to access my application at a future date. After filling out the info and pressing the save option, my browser went to an error screen for US Bank's server. Hitting 'back' did nothing for me, and I am unable to login with the credentials I created (it clearly did not save my password).
Naturally, US Bank is closed at the moment. I plan to call first thing in the morning.
Has anyone done something like this with a credit card application before? Did the bank fix your error when you called? Or did they make you reapply?
Along a similar line, I've never done an AoR before (and this isn't part of one, just a single app). If they make me reapply and I do it tomorrow, will my credit show two hits or one?
I probably won't see a response before tomorrow morning, but someone else might learn from my mistake. Thanks for any input you may have.
