Yesterday I was denied status match. Agent said can you only have status match for one year. Since I had it last year she said no.
Very poor customer service and I will fly other airlines when I cannot book on SWA. Not going to fly Air Tran as some of the international destinations are not in SWA system yet. I've got two planned in May/June. So SWA/AirTran you loose 4 round trips. Guess my travel is not important to you.
Did you call Airtran or Southwest? I suggest you call the Airtran Elite number. They can do it in a few seconds.
I have been told the original policy was one match for one year but it was changed. Every year Airtran has renewed my A-List status without question for both my self and my wife.
I renewed my A-List by phone just after the first of the year. I have also recently discussed this with an Airtran CSR and even got another email response recently confirming it when I asked my wife to be upgraded to A-List + since she had more than 50 flights on Airtran last year (that request was denied).
I will edit the Wiki and indicate there may be some difficulty.
