Thanks for the replies. So, it sounds like I would want to sit on the right for landing into SFO and on the left for departing from SFO. Is that right?

The opinion in the thread about landing into SFO when coming from LHR suggests sitting on the left for arrival into SFO, and I'm trying to make sense of the difference... I suppose LHR-SFO is a more northerly route than BOS-SFO, so perhaps sitting on the left would make sense in the LHR case if the plane would end up flying past SF from the North before looping back to SFO from the South.
