The last Amazon payments account payment that I made was back in early December. FWIW, I have not been making payments to myself, and have been using it to pay my rent.
I've heard of Amazon payments accounts being closed (with the Amazon.com account staying open), but I haven't heard of both accounts being closed or accounts being placed "on hold." Anyone else counter this?
weird and a bit scary. cant believe they shut both AP and amazon.com accounts down. did you have multiple AP accounts?
Nope! Just the one account. I can't even access my Kindle library at the moment. After doing some research, it's sounding like what might have triggered the lock is my recent purchase of amazon gift cards using different credit cards--all in my name--(to take advantage of the $25 off $75 Amex offer). It also sounds like it will eventually be unlocked (from what I've read online). They also placed a hold on any account at any address to which I ever sent merchandise, including accounts belonging to my parents and sister. I have not made payments to these other accounts either. Will update when this is resolved.
