A properly formed union is required to represent all employees. So, if the union is forced to represent you, the logic is that you should be forced to pay for it. And you are only required to pay dues toward actual representation activities, not political contributions, etc. If you hate unions in general, I suppose this is unlikely to convince you, but there is a certain logic to the requirement that everyone pay.
