Appreciate the kind wishes and post
I cant fully agree with your thoughts. I agree that its good there is a high bar to achieve the tier as it makes it a more exclusive group that qualify
On the other hand Hyatt is at a reasonable disadvantage with young folks reviewing SPG and Gold Passport lifetime programs.
SPG is a far easier reach to secure top tier status so for 20 something's up and coming professionals.
Hyatt shoots itself in the foot to capture that elite group of young spenders they will need to fill their rooms over the decades
In addition its not 200,000 in spending its 200,000 in spending if you happen to chose Gold Passport points over miles and someone over time
between Gold Passport service center or the hotels happens to mention and warns/educates the customer not to choose miles or forfeit 100% tracking of all eligible earnings.
For some its sadly to late. This stupidity astonishes me that Hyatt hasn't corrected the loophole or educate the membership base
yet finds time to do a number of negative initiatives that they waste their time with instead.
I cant tell you how many Hyatt management individual's at the hotels thank me personally for reminding them so they can coach their own customers
Its astounding to me Hyatt doesn't even make an attempt to communicate their intention
Of course we the die hard loyalists here are well aware by now
