The girlfriend and I are taking a trip to Lima on the dates above. Because of (her) budget issues, we are only planning on staying in Lima and the surrounding area for the week. I have heard that there is plenty to do in Lima, but now that I'm really planning everything out I'm not sure. Is there...

1. Anything special going on on those dates that I should look out for?
2. Anyone else that will be in Lima these dates that would like to meet up?
3. Any short and/or inexpensive day trips to see some wildlife or anything that you can't find in the city?

Any other tips you might have for a relatively long stay in Lima would be appreciated. Thanks.
