There is no such law. Inventory can change at any time between the time you price a flight and the time you actually purchase it.
I was specifically responding to the case where a price has been displayed, but the flight was not actually ticketed (or even purchased for that matter). The situation above does not apply to the poster.
While you responded to the situation described, that's not the question the OP actually asked - if airlines had to honor a
ticketed price. The correct answer is that there is no law, but there is a DOT rule that airlines have to honor a ticketed or purchased price (or risk being fined by DOT).
