Trying to decide whether to status challenge next year. I usually get upgraded to BE on JFK-SFO on DL by controlling the dates and time of travel, and am able to pay/expense M fares to do so. Figured if I'm going to rebuild loyalty, can't really base it just on a forum opinion of product.
Mixed up my fight schedules this past week to fly some paid first products, and have tried AA and UA transcons now all in the last quarter. Work won't expense paid F, but will expense M fares.
Probably the most bothersome has been the UA Zone 1 problem - it's like the SkyPriority issue flying DL out of ATL. If everyone has it, you probably need a better way to segment boarding.
Seems everyone's bent on diluting benefits rather than raising the difficulty. Kill rollovers and make earning miles-based DM as difficult to earn as segment-based DM. I have a ton of respect for anyone that earns DM flying segments only... I couldn't do it, but they deserve the nicer benefits.
