I'm sorry, J ~ I stand corrected. I had "vertical stabilizer" on the brain. Ventral fin is a whole different thing. As to ventral fins, I think (but don't hold me to it) that some of TWA's old -131s with the JT3C engines had the large VFs. Google 707-131 and you'll find a few pics.
