I remember that Song was the first time I experienced an aircraft with PTVs and it was a delight. Compared to UP, Song should be considered a legacy. Therefore, I believe UP will be more unhelpful to LY than Song was to DL.
UP will be more unhelpful to EL AL by virtue of it trying to replicate a LCC model (fares, service, etc.) while retaining EL AL's high cost structure. It's a recipe for financial disaster.
