So, do I have any right to seek justice from LX?
This happened a hundred or so pages ago to someone else - was it someone else or are you repeating an old story?
I'm very sorry this happened to you.
I (like to think I) would have humiliated the person shouting at me, and either insisted I sit in the seat they ticketed me and gave me a boarding pass for or offload me and my luggage, hopefully delaying the flight. Give them something else to consider.
I think everyone (bar the initial guinea pigs) flying on any of these fares have had multiple back up plans in their heads, and for those on LX, what they would say / do if your situation happened to them. Fortunately I never had to use any of my back up plans - one of which was a ticketed Y fare (non refundable) from SIN-LHR - but i'd used the other 3 segments of the ticket so accepted this as a cost.
I have 2 regrets - 1) that I didn't book LHR-YVR in Y and save myself some monry and 2) seek a refund for my LHR-YVR flight (or the taxes associated with this). However I had no intention to use this segment and all else was great, so I was ultimately very happy with all.
