Another problem is that some readers expect every blog to be something for everyone, which is not humanly possible in the first place. It really cracks me up when some folks who have been hobbying for 10 years now demand new content to keep them entertained and educated. Trying to keep happy those who know it all is a losing proposition any which way you look at it.
All very true! Of course some blogs are very light on content but heavy on deal pimping. I do follow blogs that offer deals or links, but the ones I read only include those things as a small part of much greater content.
