It depends if cash register allows credit card tender at all for this sort of transaction.
I tried once to buy Money Pak at Duane Reade (Walgreens) with credit card and even though cashier let me swipe my card, it didn't go through.
So just try it first.
Yes, it's a good value if it works. $3 for 500 load is good. $3 for 1500 load is even better.
