No preference. When I know typical landing patterns I may choose based on what I hope to see. On a recent flight to NRT I chose a seat on the right side, knowing that flights often come right down the coast before making a sharp turn west for landing. Indeed, it was just about sunset, with low clouds but with Mt. Fuji popping up above the clouds. Brilliant.

Actually, I have a slight preference for "left" on 2-aisle planes since sometimes you get off slightly faster.
