The Snipping Tool will let you select any part of the screen and save to an image file or the clipboard. To get it, go Start-> and type "snipping tool" or go into All Programs->Accessories->Snipping Tool.
I just want to say thanks to gfunkdave for making me aware of the snipping tool - easy to use, simple, there where you need it.... how un-Microsoft!
