I don't know about being treated like a king. However, when I fly transpac (which is almost always in coach), I pick up a few boxes of Sees candy and give them to the FAs when I board, along with a, "just a token of appreciation -- I know how hard you guys work." I've yet to have a flight when every FA on board didn't stop by to give me a warm thank you. I'm not particularly demanding when I fly -- I'm more interested in just being left alone (with sufficient quantities of alcohol). However, I'm always treated well. Sometimes, an FA will bring me an extra amenity kit or a bottle of wine, but it's not expected. The idea isn't to obtain some kind of quid pro quo -- providing the acknowledgment and, maybe, brightening the day of some FAs is the only goal.
