Flew from Baku to Kharkov via SAW with Pegasus.

In summary - Flight OK. Ground staff at SAW appalling.

Never again.
Outbound was fine with an easy transfer at the Pegasus transfer desk. I had a 5 hour wait in both directions. Facilities in the departure lounge are fine, prices are in line with international airports.
Wifi is available at 8TL for 2 hours and 18TL for 24 hours. Spend 20 TL in any bar or restaurant and you get 1 hour free (if you ask).

Problems were on the return flight. Arrived at 0500 hrs with an onward flight at 1110 hrs. The Pegasus transfer desk staff refused to issue a ticket for my onward flight (no online check in was available). They said I must wait for the Azal staff at the other tx desk, OK so what time do they start? – We don’t know you have to wait. After one hour in the cold transfer area with no facilities I asked again. At this point the male member of staff became rude bordering on aggressive. I simply wanted to know when I would be able to get my onward ticket and proceed to the departure lounge where I could get refreshments and wifi access. I was told to do as I was told and wait…. I assumed the second desk would open at 7am so I waited another hour.

At 7:10 and avoiding the earlier representative I again approached the transfer desk and asked another Pegasus rep (the ticket issuing company) when I would be able to get my onward ticket. The same guy came straight across and said ‘I told you to wait’. I replied (calmly) that I merely wished to get my onward ticket so I could get to the departure lounge. Again he became rude in response – told me he knew his job and I should do as I was told and wait.

At this point I asked for his name – he refused to give it - the staff do not wear name cards. I advised him I would be complaining to Pegasus at which point he laughed and said do what you want. Great attitude.

I decided to go to passport control where I bought a visa (15E) went outside and around to departures. I checked in at the Pegasus desk. I told the rep my baggage had already been checked through but for some reason the transfer desk couldn’t issue my onward ticket, the reply was no they can’t do that, you have to exit and come here.

Now if the t*at at the tx desk had just explained that, you Pegasus/SAW airport, may have had a return customer but given the treatment on this occasion I will never return by choice. Your staff need to be trained better and grasp the fact that the customers are the ones paying their wages. A little customer service would go a long way.
