Well it depends on the setup.
YYZ domestic, it's a completely separate line, with it's own xray and metal detector. Although last time I was in it, even the regular line was moving faster
At YYZ transborder, they seem to send passengers from some other line (Altitude? Regular?) to the NEXUS line if it's "too short", which is really annoying. It means you skip the first part of the wait, but the second part is still there.
Ever time I use a NEXUS security line, I tell myself "next time, I'm just using the priority line." But I always go back to NEXUS
