Whats the deal with FA's offering any member of the airline industry a large bottle of water as soon as they step into the plane? Deadheads, Non-Revs, Pilots, off-duty FAs, ramp personnel, etc.

When I ask for a bottle of water, I'm told, "no i'm sorry, I can only give you this glass".

I get its a courtesy, but...
