baggage and Jetstar!

Has Jetstar changed their policy for connecting to Qantas international flights?

Ive just booked an award flight to Vancouver from Adelaide.

Adelaide-Sydney-Dallas-Vancouver

When i booked, my online itinerary at 'my bookings' said 2 x 23kg for each leg of my trip.

A week later i changed the Dallas-Vancouver flight, but then i noticed my baggage changed to just 20kg for each leg.

Shock horror!!! I instantly rang Qantas to find out why and they assured me that my baggage should be 2x23kg, but they didnt change anything and asked me to ring Jestar to confirm i can take 2x23kg.

Of course my booking on Jetstar.com says 20kg (i can increase to $40 for $24. its not much but still not 2x23). So i rang jetstar and obviously they spoke with me like i dont even know what an aeroplane is and informed me that theyre and budget airline and that is their baggage policy. When i mentioned the words like international transfer, significant carrier, they ignored and reiterated their policy... they didnt want a bar of it.

So i rang back qantas and the lady said, yes you should have 2x23kg and changed my booking. Now, 'my booking' shows 2 pieces. Great! But she seemed like she wanted to get off the phone as quick as possible. Is this a current issue between jetstar and qantas, i wonder?

However, when i log into Jestar.com, it still says 20kg. After all this, im 99% sure im still going to run into trouble when i get to the airport with my ski equipment...

So, my questions:

Have Jetstar changed their policy and not honor the more significant carriers baggage allowance?
Has anyone had a problem recently with jetstar not allowing 2 pieces for a connecting flight to americas?
And finally, will they even accept that 2 pieces is 2x23kg bags?

My flight is end november, i cant stress for that long... Thanks for any help/assurance.
