Totally agree! Tripadvisor reviews are rarely concerned with elite benefits (not the case with FTers!).
And @DCBob, I never said money wasn't an issue - I set the budget at ~$500/night. JW is pretty much ~$500/night, Ren is about half that. Couldn't really justify spending more than $1,000/night at the Ritz!

I do prefer trip reports on FT more so than TripAdvisor on chain hotels because I get a better sense of what the hotels are like in terms of honoring elite benefits, etc, something you don't always get on TripAdvisor. Plus you get to know FTers (even if virtually) & have a better trust factor on accurate reporting. But it's a to each their own. Both sites offer feedback.
