You raise a great point. I would love to see hotel web sites routinely talk about upgraded features (NOT reiterate everything found in standard rooms) and specify minimum room size for each room type. Regrettably I don't expect that to happen for luxury or boutique properties, because then prospective guests might be evaluating them on something as pedestrian as square footage, not service, mystique, heritage.

For me, I can be happy with a well-proportioned 300 square feet - but have seen a lot less in Paris, London, Hong Kong... I guess I'm just not spending enough!
