I don't think I've ever been told exactly where I was, but I've been told "you're going to get it", "you're very close to the top", etc.

Actually, given my current AQM, maybe I'll SDC to a YYZ-SFO direct. 739 and 759 are J5 and J6, and both get in at or before when my current one would, and are less prone to delays (also a potential issue for me).

This is why I don't understand why they don't show you the waitlist. It's a great way to make money on same day changes. I might not pay $800 for a LMU across the country, but I'll definitely pay $75 to guarantee my upgrade goes through, if the flight's leaving with empty seats anyway.
