If you are paying then (missed earned) points or not CX offers J seats with a $200 penalty and fully refundable apart from that penalty for slightly over $5,000.

With superior J service and seating.

I am flying to BKK end of November and all in was $5,041. AC was nearly $3,000 more than that. Have they matched this price on a refundable ticket?

I flew the J pods on YYZ-YVR in April, that was continuing to SYD and I would not pay money to fly in them farther than that, because they are smaller than CX and then CX service is a trump card also.

That and the $3,000 per ticket. I don't know the value of the points but I doubt it is $6,000 to buy what would be not earned.
