Anyone has more ideas how to spend time in Playa? What else should we do/see?

Since you're staying in PDC, I'd suggest skipping Isla Mujeres, which will involve traveling back thru Cancun, then out to the Island. Instead, push Tulum off to Thursday, and spend Wednesday enjoying your time on the beach at PDC, perhaps snorkeling or other watersports. This also gives you an extra day to allow for a rain-day-out.
Alternatively, spend Thurs. at Xcaret eco-park, or Xel-Ha. You can buy full day, all inclusive packages for these either in advance or once you're in PDC. Or just spend a half day there. If you really want to see an island, perhaps Cozumel would be fun--certainly closer to PDC than Mujeres.
