Thanks everyone for posting about this place. I read a lot of threads on here and learned quite a bit. I was hesitant about going at first but realized there really is nothing to worry about so I booked a hotel two blocks from Cinqua Avenida from Saturday to Saturday. Planned my trip this way:

Saturday - Land at 2pm, take ADO bus from airport to PDC (Playa Del Carmen). Total comes out to $36 both ways for me and my gf. Hotel quoted us $125 for the roundtrip.
- going to get a massage at the beach is priority
- drinks by a bar
Sunday - beach day and relaxing all day
Monday - Mexican Independence Day. There should be enough going on.
Tuesday - Chichen Itza trip at 8am
Wednesday - Tulum
Thursday - Isla Mujeres
Friday - Beach day and spending it in the city
Saturday - flight to Boston.

Anyone has more ideas how to spend time in Playa? What else should we do/see?
